Buttons and Felt

Not sure where the last week went? I seem have less and less time .... so the blog has suffered this week. Here are a few button and felt brooches I've made this week.


Perhaps I'm just feeling old this week ... our son, Adrian was 37 last Sunday.- but not too old to have his Mum's homemade birthday cake with chocolate frosting and M &Ms. Brandon, his son and Dylan, his bnephew, didn't seem to mind it either.

Have a great week - I will try to get back to my blogging routine this weekend.

    Love the brouches and buttons, beautiful colours!! See you Saturday, I haven't picked up any clay in months so trying desperately to find some sculpting time before Saturday - hopefully I haven't forgotten everything :(

Today’s envelope is a simple collage with paper and fabric. I couched (stitched) Holly ribbon and embroidered French knots for the berries. The Holly theme is inspired by one of my favourite Australian Christmas stamps, depicting an angel with holly leaf wings . Today, I was stitching the holly ribbon onto the envelope at the Wednesday group and had planned to glue on some paper berries but a friend convinced me that embroidered ones would look much better and I think she is right!

Christmas Firsts #18 : Where in the World?

Where in the world will FIRST  experience Christmas Day? Because of the time zones and daylight saving , the first places will be   Samoa,    Tonga  and Kiritimati (Christmas Island) . They   are the first places to welcome Christmas. New Zealand and Australia see in Christmas Day soon after,  while American Samoa and Baker Island in the United States of America are among the last.
