Where is Wooly? Chinese New Year in Newcastle

MEDIA RELEASE                 Chinese New Year celebrations in Newcastle, with ‘Where is Wooly? ’ The Chinese Year of the Sheep starts February 19 th ….and it seems that the sheep (goat, or ram) is among the animals that people like most. It is gentle and calm. Since ancient times, people have learned to use its fleece to make writing brushes and skin and wool to keep warm. As it is white, people describe delicate and precious white jade to be 'suet jade'. Thus it is close to the meaning of good things.
 To celebrate the Year of the Sheep, a hand crafted felted sheep will be peeping out where least expected in very iconic locations around Newcastle. Year of the Snake : Happy Chinese New Year

 Happy Chinese New Year - the first day of the lunar year was last week, but with celebrations continuing  for at least two weeks, we had our family get together last night. We all look forward to the celebrations because they all mean something special to each of us Chinese New Year = colourful Lion dances  Chinese New Year = loud music and fun  Chinese New Year = lucky red packets of money  Chinese New Year = a special event and dressing up Chinese New Year = yummy food and lots of it Chinese New Year = family and friends celebrating together All the best to my family and friends all over the world during  the Year of the Snake.
