Fearless Flowers Market - International Women's Day

A year of creating Fearless Flowers to raise funds for ovarian cancer research and the funding fairness campaign #Pink Meets Teal came to a happy end on International Women's Day, 8 March.  It was a great celebration of the Wednesday group's hard work, commitment and sense of community, with lots of support from friends, family and politicians from local, state and federal governments.  The Wednesday Group at Timeless Textiles and Anne Kempton and I would like to thank everyone who attended, especially Deputy Lord Mayor, Declan Clausen,  State Member for Newcastle, Tim Crakanthorp and Federal Member for Newcastle, Sharon Claydon who gave the International Women's Day address.   We also thank the Rotary Club of Wallsend-Maryland who helped on the day and the Makers and Traders, Newcastle for their amazing support and publicity during the lead up to the event.  Most of all, we are very grateful to the many individuals and grou...

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 8 March 2020 FEARLESS FLOWERS MARKET This International Women’s Day, the Wednesday Group will be co- hosting the 2020 Fearless Flower Market and auction. All proceeds from this market/auction will support the Pink Meets Teal initiative, raising money to support Ovarian Cancer research. Fearless Flowers Support Funding Fairness for Ovarian Cancer Research

Since 9 May this year, the Wednesday Group - Fearless Flowers has been busily creating beautiful hand made textile flowers to thank donors who support the Pink Meets Teal campaign for ovarian cancer research in Australia, and advocacy for funding fairness and equity for ovarian cancer research and treatment advancement.   We have received excellent media coverage on television, radio and in print and electronic media   From the ABC News 8 June 2019...  The Fearless Flowers project, launched a month ago, is already gathering momentum, with national and international artists making a commitment to get on board. Newcastle's Timeless Textiles gallery, Australia's only commercial textiles gallery, is home to the community art group, which is driving the national campaign. Fearless Flowers - a community at project.

For International Women’s Day 2020, the Fearless Flowers Project is raising funds for research into Ovarian Cancer. Every year in Australia, 1600 women are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and 1000 die. Hunter (NSW) researchers are involved in cutting edge work to improve this mortality rate but they need our financial support.  In Newcastle (NSW, Australia) an group of artists meets every Wednesday at the fibre art gallery, Timeless Textiles in Hunter Street, Newcastle East.  The Wednesday Group  will be making fibre/textile flowers and they will bloom and be sold amongst the Norfolk pines outside the gal lery on 8 March 2020 .   Timeless Textiles and the Wednesday group's previous International Women's Day Projects raising funds for various local  and overseas causes have been:  Spreading Wings  Prayer Flags for Peace  Stitch-a-thon for White Ribbon  Letting Go Flying Free  Out of the Wood  In t...
