Dance .... with leaves and animals

Dancing my way to Tag Tuesday this week  for the theme "Dance-Dancers- Dancing" . Here I used torn bits of inked paper with other bits from concert advertising. All I could think of was kinetic energy and how I could convey that as a collage of contemporary dance. I liked the swirls of mark making  because they remind of  dance painting..... no words can explain this  better than the sight of it in action.  In the past week,  I have also been  mesmerised by the  beautiful coloured autumn leaves which look as if they are dancing in the breeze as they fall from trees . (Remember, I am in the southern hemisphere so it is just the start of our winter).  Attention -seeking  Against a bushland backdrop  Golden leaves dancing  ( a free motion stitched wearable art pin  #100pinpoems in #the100dayproject )  Sadly I was a little late photographing the tag I made for the previous theme "Animals" but I incl...

Where Thy Grey Eye Glances

And all my days are trances   And all my nightly dreams  Are where thy grey eye glances  And where thy footstep gleams—  In what ethereal dances  By what eternal streams.” —” To One in Paradise " - Edgar Allan Poe   I made a collage tag for Tag Tuesday's  current theme  "Edgar Allan Poe", just in time for the season of  spooky  stories and Halloween.  I used  pieces of torn  paper - text, painted or printed household paper, tea bag, magazine page and a photocopied image of  E.A.P.  I finished  the tag with a rows of machine stitching.  Such a challenging theme set by Design Team member, Michele , but please visit the Tag Tuesday blog to see amazing tags  from very talented artists.

Music - Tag Tuesday

from : http://quotesblog.net/music-quotes-on-pics-and-cards/ Such a long time since I have written a blog post .... I have neglected both my blog and Tag Tuesday in the last month or so, but here I am back with renewed enthusiasm. This fortnight and I am just meeting the deadline the theme is Music - there are  many links to fantastic musically creative tags here on the Tag Tuesday blog  ... I used one old piece of sheet music ( I think my children now in their 40's had this when they were in their high school band)  and made six tags from it. Dance - Tag Tuesday - Music  The first uses the music as a background and I cut and glued a piece of interesting fabric over the top - I think these are people enjoying a good old fashioned dance. The Mikado - Tag Tuesday - Music  The second also uses the music as background, and a photocopy from a book about Gilbert and Sullivan  about  the ban on playing the Mikado in England in 1907. Quirky Characters

I often wonder if perhaps I am  becoming a little more eccentric. When the last fortnight's Tag Tuesday themes were announced - Masculine and Feminine - my mind wandered all over the themes until I settled on using some cardboard templates I  already had and with scissors, glue, a couple of abandoned book pages and some magazine and stock images, I came up with these "Quirky Characters". I need to mention that the book page backgrounds were from a book of literary criticism, with the masculine ( apologies to Salvador Dali) about  Shakespeare's Richard III and the feminine background came from a page about the work of Jane Austen. Quirky, but fun!
