Day 28 - 29 Faces Art Challenge ...  The second last day of the 29 Faces Art Challenge ... this is the last of the May Gibbs inspired faces - Gumnut Girl. Now that I see all four - it's a good celebration of the classic Australian favourite bush baby characters.

Day 26 of 29 Faces Art Challenge in February ... again one inspired by Australian author and artist , May Gibbs - Wattle Girl, based on one of the bush babies favourites. Only two days to go, but three more faces... keep following - it's almost over. 

Day 25 in the 29 Faces Art Challenge - another inspired by the Australian bush babies by May Gibbs. This is  Brown Boronia Girl  ( based on Boronia megastima)

Day 24 of 29 Faces Art Challenge.... with only a few more days to go, I thought I would do a few "May Gibbs" inspired tags.  May Gibbs is an Australian author, famous for her very charming drawings of beautiful magical infants who live in the Australian bush. I recently visited the State Library to see the May Gibbs ' exhibition, and  have tried to recreate some of the favourite characters in my own way . . Here is a Gum  (Eucalypt) Blossom Girl ...

Tag Tuesday's theme is "Spring Flowers", so with the help of a couple of layers of paper serviettes, three paper flowers and some ink and pencil face drawings, voila - Spring flowers which also fulfil today's  commitment to the 29 Faces Art Challenge!  Spring flowers have also appeared on my tags in 29 Faces for the last week, so here they are for Tag Tuesday too. ...  all are ink, pencil and watercolour over the top of scrap painted or collaged paper.

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly... Day 21 of the 29 Faces Art Challenge. Today's is an experimental drawing over a metallic painted background....

Day 19 - 29 Faces Art Challenge ... I am surprising myself that I am still keeping up... Today's is a quick drawing on the remainder of  yesterday's paper serviette.

Day 14 of the 29 Faces Art Challenge - Happy Valentine's Day. Even if you don't celebrate this event or like the commercial hype which often surrounds the day, "go out into the world today and love the people you meet. #29faces - 13 and "Bookworm" for Tag Tuesday: Wilma Simmons  "Killing two birds with one stone" - hope this isn't cheating?  Day 13 of the 29 Faces Art Challenge and Tag Tuesday for the theme "Bookworm"  As you know, the 29 Faces Challenge means creating a face a day... Here is the link to the 29 Faces blog .  There are on this blog 39 participants in this month's challenge,  Tag Tuesday has now changed and anyone can join in  - there is,as usual,  a theme, but there are now two weeks to post a link  on the Tag Tuesday blog.   Hope you will visit and look at the links to many different artistic tags created for  the 'Bookworm" theme . 

A little rushed today but here is my Day 12 face for the 29 Faces Art Challenge - a Winter girl  on Santa Lucia Day. 

Great to be in control of the weather... Day 11 of the 29 Faces Art Challenge. If you are experiencing the extreme heat in NSW (Australia) , keep cool and be alert for bushfires - take care everyone!

Day 10 - I was trying for the chubby face ice princess look  - not sure I got it, but keeping up with 29 faces Art Challenge with a face a day!

Day 9 of the 29 Faces Art Challenge ... changed the season, just to counter the really scorching temperatures we have been experiencing here ... pretending to be cold!

Day 8 of the 28 Faces Art Challenge. Here is another Autumn tag - the usual ink, oencil and watercolour sketch and with a skeleton leaf. Already the first week of the month has passed.... 

Day 7 of the 29 Faces Challenge . It is Number 3 in the Autumn Series - an ink, pencil and watercolour sketch.

Day 6,  29 Faces Art Challenge - #2 in Autumn series 

#29 Faces /5  Autumn : Wilma Simmons  Day 5 of the 29 Faces Art Challenge . I have started on some "Autumn" tags using the same technique as before, old scrap painted paper, with ink and watercolour and pencil sketch.

#29Faces Summer#3 : Wilma Simmons  A summer tribute to Australian volunteer  beach lifesavers for  the 29 Faces Art Challenge Day 3. This is an art tag - ink, paint and pencil sketch over a 'scrap" background created from a magazine page which had been used to take excess paint from a brayer.

 Here I am again taking up the 29 Faces Challenge in February . If you remember last year, I created 29 faces on used tea bags and celebrated the achievements of women too.  Here is a link to my 2 9 Faces of Worldy Women . 29 Gaces is an art  challenge set by  Martha, Ayala Art and for more information go to the  29 Faces blog.   There are many paint artists who take up this challenge, but I am not a portraitist and work mostly with textiles, so it is all fun for me to use paint, pencils and ink. This month, I m going to make small series of tags celebrating the seasons and the natural elements. I am going to use all my scraps of painted or dyed paper I have in storage... left over bits of art paper I have used to roll off excess paint from brayers, or test out colours - there is plenty to make 29 small tags! #29 Faces #1 /Summer : Wilma Simmons  #29 Faces #2/Summer :Wilma Simmons Keep following my progress with this challenge - I will try to post every couple of d
